October 3: Civil War Stories Part 2 presented by Robert Geiger
Last year’s popular Civil War presentation by Knox County Career Center teacher, Robert Geiger, resulted in calls for more. So we’ve arranged for a return visit to learn more about other topics that keep his high school students interested in the history of America and Knox County.
November 7: Knox County at the End of World War 1 presented by Dr. John Fowler
November 11, 2018, will mark the 100 th anniversary of the end of World War I. KCHS Vice-President, Dr. John Fowler, will tell us about the War’s close and how it affected life in Knox County, Ohio.
December 5: Christmas at The Hanby House presented by Pam Allen
The Christmas season is a busy time at Westerville’s Hanby House, with connections not only to the popular songs, “Up on the Housetop” and “Darling Nellie Gray,” but also to the underground railroad movement in Ohio, to the founding of Otterbein College, and to a famous newspaper editor here in Mount Vernon.
