Now Available!
The Artist’s Eye is a brand new book featuring more than 50 beautiful watercolors of historic Knox County scenes and homes.
Throughout the 1950’s, Mount Vernon artist and graphic designer, Vernon Johnson, captured countless images of our area in his watercolor paintings. His daughter, Janis Johnson, has just completed her 128-page, full color book on the life and work of her father, containing dozens of historic street scenes, businesses, churches and homes.
The book is now available at the Historical Society Museum, at $34.95, plus $2.30 tax, totaling $37.25. Historical Society members receive a 10% discount at the Museum Store, making their cost just $33.50, including tax. Persons wanting the book shipped should include $5.00 additional for postage.
Orders may be placed by phone (740-393-5247 or 740-397-3503), or by mail to
